Often I enter a practice to find unnecessary team conflict and disorganization. This simple exercise will reveal gaps in your team member’s understanding of their roles and responsibilities in your practice. Many doctors assume these tasks are getting accomplished by the right team member in the right way and at the right time. That’s rarely what we see. The reality is many necessary assignments do not even show up on anyone’s plate. This lack of clarity is detrimental to a team.
Try this exercise for one of your team meetings and share it with me. I would love to hear what tasks you discovered were not on anyone’s radar.
